Build a Habit of Reading
This book club is great to form a habit of reading. Students will read aloud for 20 minutes with assistance of a website that provides timely feedback to students’ fluency and accuracy. Students will share a summary of their reading in the last 10 minutes of the lesson.
2. Middle School Reading Comprehension Course
Effective Reading Comprehension Strategies
Students will learn to tackle reading comprehension questions by studying the five main skills categories of reading comprehension: (1) Identify and Interpret Ideas and Details; (2) Interpret Text Organization; (3) Associate Meaning; (4) Make Connections; (5) Evaluate. Students will apply their understanding to various literary texts that suit their reading level.
